Nature journaling is one of the best ways we know to increase your observation skills and enjoyment of the natural world. It is mainly about the wonder of the world and taking time to look at the amazing rocks and plants and critters you encounter in the outdoors – from the wilderness to a stroll around your neighborhood or a quiet moment in your own backyard. Nothing much is required, some pencils, a few paints, a ball point pen and a blank journal. And it certainly is not about artistic skill, but rather the ability to look deeper and deeper into the beauty of nature.

Jack Laws is an expert in sharing the basics of nature journaling. He has written several books on the subject and freely shares instructional videos and inspiration at his website johnmuirlaws.com
