Mushroom Walk, 2025
Since 2024, the SLT Stewardship & Outreach program has led over thirty nature walks and talks in collaboration with numerous local experts to explore the world of botany, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, stargazing, forest health, and native plant propagation. SLT is thrilled to engage over 300 community members (and counting!) on these learning adventures, where community and nature intertwine.
Each walk is not only an exploration of the breathtaking beauty of Siskiyou County, also a chance to deepen connections with our land trust supporters and to share our mutual love of this place we are so lucky to call home. Walks and educational workshops are led by experts in their fields who generously volunteer their time and knowledge, offering participants opportunity to learn something new.
These experiences highlight the vital role that pollinators, birds, native plants, insects, mushrooms, and many other species play in maintaining a diverse and healthy ecosystem. Along the way, participants gain knowledge, and just as importantly, form meaningful connections. One of the most heartwarming aspects of these walks is the friendships that continue to grow among staff, Board, and community members.
Your time and contributions make these experiences possible, and every dollar you donate helps us to protect the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity that define our home. Thank you for joining us on this journey of discovery and stewardship and helping us to ensure that Siskiyou County remains a healthy, vibrant community for wildlife and people for generations to come.
Share your nature walk photos with Siskiyou Land Trust! We look forward to hearing from you at [email protected]!
