Siskiyou Land Trust’s March slideshow will delight you with the adventures of Smudge (Janet Zalewski) and Groceries (Linda Richeter) on a four month journey along the Continental Divide “Trail.”

The Continental Divide Trail is one of the most significant trail systems in the world. Established by Congress in 1978, it spans 3,100 miles between Mexico and Canada, traverses five states and connects countless communities along its spine. The CDT is surrounded by mystery as the trail is incomplete and more of a “corridor” where hikers choose their own route. Long Distance hikers from around the world consider a “Thru Hike” along the Great Divide to be one of the most physically and mentally challenging outdoor endeavors one might attempt.

On April 20, 2014, Janet and Linda set off from the Mexico/New Mexico border on a four month journey that would take them 1,800 miles north along the backbone of North America…Smudge on foot and Groceries on wheels acting as Trail Angel extraordinaire supporting Smudge and others along the way.

Fabulous photos. Wonderful stories. Join us at 7:00pm in the Sisson Museum in Mt. Shasta. This SLT fundraising event has an $8 suggested donation.
