2022-23 Siskiyou Land Trust Keystone Awards

Each year SLT presents 3 awards at our annual meeting – one award to a volunteer, one award to a business, and one award to a financial supporter to recognize their outstanding contributions to the Siskiyou Land Trust. It is always a humbling time to think back and remember all of the ways that these supporters have helped SLT.

We are so honored to have been able to present the following awards:

Volunteer of the Year – Tom Hesseldenz

Business of the Year – Kendra Bainbridge of Raven Tree – Wild Bird & Nature Shop

Financial Supporter of the Year – Leslie Andrews

Each of these remarkable individuals have been supporting SLT collectively for decades.

Whether through a 30-year vision to acquire a remarkable 300-acre ranch at the headwaters of the Sacramento and Shasta Rivers (Tom), a partnership that benefits birds, bees, pollinators and people (Raven Tree Wild Bird & Nature Shop), or through decades of donations totaling an impressive amount of money (Leslie,) these recipients’ support helps us to protect the forests, rivers, meadows and agricultural landscapes of Siskiyou County we all love for generations to come.

We are truly humbled and honored that these three very special people as well as all of YOU that support the Siskiyou Land Trust allow us to do the work that we do. It matters deeply and we thank you all.

2023 Annual Meeting

What a fun celebration!!

Thank you to all who came in-person and by Zoom to our 2023 Annual Meeting and 30th Anniversary Celebration last night. What a fun and fabulous time!

A huge THANK YOU to major donors who surprised us with checks for early Giving Tuesday – Steve & Andrea Suttell and Francis Mangels & Barbara Lee Coulter! Wow, thank you so much!

THANK YOU to the Mount Shasta Resort, Mt Shasta Mt. Shasta Rotary, Ken Brummel-Smith, and Tristan Behm who all helped the evening run smoothly!

Mt Shasta Resort staff provided incredible service and we are grateful for their graciousness in allowing access to test our equipment and set-up early. Ken spent several hours with us doing an advance tech run-through and offered his indispensable wisdom and experience to keep the night running smoothly! Tristan Behm brought the audio equipment AND his acoustic performance made for an especially festive atmosphere! Thank you everyone so much.

We loved reading the memories and responses attendees shared on our “SLT timeline!” Please share your photo booth and event pictures with us by emailing them to siskiyoulandtrust@gmail.com

We look forward to conserving more land, together, with your support and partnership.
