Let’s go for a hike and enjoy the abundance of wildflowers and wildlife on the mountain right now! The trails are bursting with color and the views are incredible. Jane Cohn, Laura Bradley, Steve Huckabone, Caitlin Bean and Barbara Peck will be our guides for this hike and bring their collective knowledge of birds, botany, butterflies and natural history to share along the trail.
Please bring binoculars, cameras, water, sun protection and a snack or light lunch so we can picnic before we head home. We’ll be using the field guides “Mount Shasta Wildflowers” and “Butterflies of the Pacific Northwest” as well as the iNaturalist app on our phones for those who are interested. Please bring your field guides if you have them (we will have copies of Mt. Shasta Wildflowers generously donated by author, Jane Cohn, available to participants) and have the iNaturalist app downloaded prior to the trip if you want to learn how to use it.
