You do not want to miss our very first MOTH NIGHT event!
Join Lepidopterist and moth expert, Glenn Fine, as he introduces us to the fascinating world of moths to celebrate National Moth Week. We’ll discover the hidden beauty, diversity and importance of moths through the use of light stations set up in strategic locations. We will learn how to identify moths, why they are important, how to find and photograph them, and how to join the global effort to track moth biodiversity!
Glenn Fine is a Siskiyou County resident, who has spent the past six years immersed in the study of moths. He collaborates with universities across the U.S. and internationally, works with independent researchers, and maintains a close partnership with the California Academy of Sciences. A skilled lepidopterist, Glenn has uncovered numerous species new to science and is passionate about sharing the surprising diversity and ecological importance of these often-overlooked insects.
This is a nighttime event so details on what to bring and what to expect will be sent prior to the event date. Sign up soon as space is limited and we expect to hit trip capacity very quickly.
