Rebuilding the Old Sisson Barn

We’ve set our sights on rebuilding the wood barn at Sisson Meadow, which is teetering on the verge of collapse. We’ll replace it with a sturdy weather-tight barn that reflects the beloved appearance of the original barn, and which will serve as a classroom and interpretive center for students and visitors to the meadow.

Local architect Chris Brown has graciously donated his time to create conceptual drawings of the new barn, which we’ll rebuild using green and recycled materials to the greatest extent.

We’ve also submitted grant proposals to several funding organizations, and have been awarded a $30,000. grant from Mountain Runners in Mt. Shasta toward the new barn. But more financial support is needed, so please consider helping us “raise the new barn” with a generous contribution.
