May 2011 post on the SLT website by Sam Baxter and Rebecca Franco

We celebrate the power of positive energy! The recent stewardship activities at Sisson Meadows truly show just how
dedicated our locals are when it comes to beautifying an important natural area heavily used by students, walkers,
people seeking the peace that comes from nature, and, especially, birds.

Volunteers were willing to donate valuable time to dig out those tenacious invasive weeds, pick up bags of trash, and
clean up and repair the walkway. One of our volunteers employed his electric vehicle to haul tools and debris from one
end of the meadow to the other. English ivy and prickly Himalayan blackberry filled a 14 foot trailer, emptied by high
school students. Pizza, coolers, walkway components, tools, and technical support were all donated and much
appreciated!

Thanks to the following individuals, businesses, schools, and agency for your generosity of spirit in keeping Sisson
Meadow a special place for people, animals, and native plants. We are incredibly fortunate to have your support!
