Siskiyou Land Trust Winter Slide Show Series Presents: “Music and Culture of Mali – Beyond Timbuktu”

The Siskiyou Land Trust held its fourth  Winter Slide Show Series presentation, “”Music and Culture of Mali” by local musician Kevin Andras who recently traveled to far away desert regions of this west African nation to attend a desert music festival. What originated as a gathering for a local exchange of information and decision making in the west African desert has evolved into an annual desert festival that celebrates peace and culture through music.

On March 9th, land trust members and the public came to listen to the music of west Africa while Kevin took us along his journey through Mali, and saw how music brings people of all nations and spiritual beliefs together across the world.

Our next slide show presentation by Michael Zanger will be held on April 13th at the Upstairs Gallery in Mt. Shasta.   Micheal will be wrapping up the series with a history of Mt. Shasta.  Doors open at 6:30  – presentation begins at 7:00.  All are welcome.  For more information about the Siskiyou Land Trust please contact us at   530-926-2259.
