DolomiteslandscapeCroppedItaly’s Dolomite mountains are spectacular, marvelous and breathtaking. They have long been one of the world’s most loved walking areas, not only for natural beauty, but for their rich history. Alta Via No.1, which winds 75 rugged miles, is a classic high Dolomites path. Hikers who brave the challenge experience unsurpassed and dramatic landscapes

DolomitesStationIn September 2015, Janet and Linda, together with a few friends set aside 10 days to travel this classic route. We invite you to share in their adventures, learn some history, hear some stories and feast your eyes on some drop dead gorgeous scenery.

Janet Zalewski and Linda Richter have lived in the Mt. Shasta area for over 20 years. As recent retirees, they spend their time gardening, dong artwork, playing and being involved in our community. Addicted to travel and adventure, they love to experience new places around the planet. Their recent outdoor experiences include the hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, the Continental Divide Trail, the Camino de Santiago in Spain, and our SLT slideshow, the Alta Via 1 in Italy.
